You Can Have a Straighter Smile - Just Like the Queen of England

Queen Elizabeth II is known for her beautiful smile. Her teeth are so bright, white, and straight that you almost want to run to the dentist for a checkup. Queen Elizabeth II had a perfect smile because of genetics. However, you can still have a smile like hers, and there are a few things you can do. Listed below are a few tips for getting an Elizabeth II-like smile.

Eat a Healthy Diet

It's never too late to start a healthy new diet, and when you do, you'll reap all kinds of benefits, including an improved smile and better overall health. Be sure to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as protein-rich foods that will help keep your teeth and gums healthy. Calcium, vitamin D, and iron are all very important for your oral health, so you'll want to get enough in your diet as well.

Avoid foods that are high in sugar or acid. These can cause cavities or weaken your tooth enamel, making it more prone to damage. It's also a good idea to avoid tobacco in any form. Tobacco can stain your teeth and increase your risk of developing gum disease. Drinking plenty of water is important for your overall health, but it can also help you keep your mouth fresh and clean. Consume water throughout the day to rinse away bacteria and debris that can cause bad breath, tooth decay, and other oral health problems.

Practice Good Oral Hygiene

Although genetics play a role in how your teeth look, you can do things to improve your smile's appearance at home. Brushing and flossing regularly is a great start. You should also avoid smoking and consuming foods and beverages that stain the teeth.

Be sure to schedule regular cleanings at our office to keep your teeth healthy between visits. The American Dental Association recommends that patients schedule two checkups and cleaning appointments each year. If it has been some time since your last checkup, call to schedule an appointment. Patients of all ages should have a cleaning and checkup every six months to ensure that their teeth are healthy and their smiles are bright!

To keep your teeth and gums healthy, don't forget to brush twice and floss once a day! We recommend using a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste with fluoride to protect your teeth from cavities. Remember to replace your toothbrush every three to four months or when the bristles start to fray. It is also a good idea to replace your toothbrush after you've had a cold to prevent re-infection of the mouth. With proper brushing and flossing techniques, you can help keep your smile bright and healthy throughout your entire life!
