Dorit Kemsley, better known as “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, was self-conscious about her teeth. She suffered from a condition called bruxism, or teeth grinding. She was given porcelain veneers for patients who have damaged their smiles through bruxism. She got a dazzling grin in just two visits. With the dramatic results of her procedure, she is now smiling from ear to ear!

About Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth-shaped shells that are attached to the front of the teeth to mask aesthetic flaws such as stains and chips. The translucent material is similar to natural enamel in look and color, making it ideal for correcting minor to moderate smile imperfections. In some cases, porcelain veneers may be alternatives to crowns or caps for addressing larger structural concerns.

Dental veneers require two appointments with your dentist to complete the placement. During your first visit, your teeth will be prepped by filing down a small amount of enamel to make room for the veneer application. An impression will be taken of your teeth so the veneers can be made in a dental lab from quality, lifelike materials. Temporary veneers will be placed on the teeth while your permanent restoration is being crafted. At your next visit, the temporary veneers will be removed, and the permanent ones will be placed with a special bonding cement. Once set in place, they will correct the appearance of your smile and appear like natural teeth.

Your smile will be fitted with a temporary set of veneers that are directly bonded to your teeth. They’ll look similar to your permanent ones, but they won’t have the fit and function that the final restorations will have. Once you’re fully satisfied with the way they look and feel, you’ll return to our office to have your permanent veneers put in place. Our dentist in Mission Viejo, CA, will carefully attach them to the front of your teeth to reveal a brand-new, gorgeous smile!
